Develope the skills to organize and present events on a timeline.
Assignment:
A timeline is a way to present visually events, discoveries or facts during a particular period.
Draw a timeline on a paper and locate the historical periods. Write the different periods of history and their beginning and ending dates. The periods should be written above the line and the dates under it.
Work proccess:
Draw a draft locating the different events. Calculate the number of segments (parts) that your timeline will have. As you are going to use years as units of time, calculate how many years have passed from the earliest event to the latest one and divide the line in that number of equal segments.
Label the dates on the appropriate segments, left to right. You have to locate each historical period's beggining and ending dates. Put the year of each of the events on the correct place (do not label the rest of the years) under the line.
Locate each historical period's beginning and ending dates. Decide how you will mark and label the dates and the events so that they are clear and easy to read. Locate them under the line.
Locate the name of each historical period on their correct place above the line.
Create your timeline using the draft. Keep in mind that the timeline has to be accurate, easy to read and understand, appealing.
