In this project you are going to create a person/character who will explain a historical moment and how people lived then.

Work procedure:

  1. Watch the Voki video tutorial.
  2. Create a draft of a monologue in which the person/character explains the historical moment and how people lived than.
  3. Look at the Voki webpage: www.voki.com. Register yourself but remember to maintain your privacy.
  4. Follow Voki's instructions:
  5. In "customize your character", click on the picture of a person/character. Look through the characters by using the left and right arrows and see by clicking on the different tabs until you find a character to fit your monologue.
  6. Choose the hair and mouth of your character (if you have that option).
  7. Choose the clothes and the headdress (hat, crown...)
  8. When you have finished, clic "Done".
  9. Click on "Give it a voice". Then click on the image of the letter T on the keyboard. In the box that says "Type your text", write the monologue that you have created. Take care in writing the words correctly and in using correct punctuation. Commas create a short pause, full stops a longer pause.
  10. In "Accent/Language", choose your language.
  11. In "Voice", choose the tone of voice and accent of your character.
  12. When you have finished click "Done".
  13. Click on "Backgrounds" to choose your scenery. Remember that the scenery has to be relevant to the historical moment and the character. From the folder icon you can also load a new background from your computer or pendrive.
  14. When you have finished click "Done".
  15. Click on "Players" to choose the colour and shape of the buttons that control your character.
  16. Use the box underneath the character to change the colour of the mouth, eyes, skin and hair. Remember that it has to make sense with the historical moment.
  17. Use the box underneath the character with the tab "Tweak" to change the size and shape of the mouth, nose, body, height, and weight of the character. Remember that is should make sense with the historical moment.

Choose among the units we have studied to develop your project. Remember that your character's monologue has to be historically accurate.

Try to be accurate and original and....Have fun!
